Area Contact Scheme

St Michael's church operates an Area Contact Scheme in order to aid communication with its members.

The parish is notionally divided into five Districts, each looked after by a District Warden and subdivided into 10-15 Areas. Within each Area, an Area Contact is appointed to maintain contact with church members.

Area Contacts help with delivering newsletters & other paperwork, but they also get to know their local church households and can often assist in meeting pastoral needs.

For those church members living far outside the parish boundary, contact is maintained by post.

Church Contact List

This is a list of the names, addresses and telephone numbers of church members. The Rector, Churchwardens, Licensed Lay Minister and others with a 'need-to-know' make use of the list in order to keep in touch with individuals and groups.

Church members supply their details using a consent form. A blank form (50kb) is available to download in Adobe PDF format. (To view the document you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your PC. This can be downloaded free from www.adobe.com.) Completed forms should be signed, dated & returned to the box in the church.

The form is used, together with feedback from Area Contacts, to update the Church Contact List. The list is recompiled every five or six years, when all church members are asked to submit new forms.
